FALA2010  Awards

The Speech Technologies Thematic Network ("Red Temática en Tecnologías del Habla")  and the ISCA Special Interest Group on Iberian Languages SIG-IL sponsor 7 awards for the best student papers, demos, project and Phd thesis:

  • 4 awards for the four best student papers presented at FALA 2010. The conditions to be eligible are:

1.       The first author of the paper should be an undergraduate or graduate student

2.       To register and attend the FALA2010 Conference

3.       To make the paper presentation at FALA2010 Conference

  • 1 award for the best demo presented at the demo session
  • 1 award for the best project presented at the project session
  • 1 award for the best phd thesis presented at the phd thesis session

Each award will consist of:

  • An award certificate
  • A gift valuated on 200-300 euros aprox.

Updated info:

  • October, 15: Taking into account the number of submitted thesis (9), demos (5) and projects (2) the organization has decided to redistribute the three planned awards, reserving two awards for thesis and a single one for projects and demos.

1 Award for the best demo/project:

TACOMA: On-line Transcription of Audiovisual Material

2 Awards for the two best PhD thesis:

Daniel Erro: "Intra-lingual and Cross-lingual Voice Conversion using Harmonic plus Stochastic Models"

Oscar Saz: "On-line Personalization and Adaptation to Disorders and Variations of Speech on Automatic Speech Recognition Systems"
